Former Arsenal Winger Denies Demons.

Any Arsenal fans amongst you will remember the not so successful spell of Glenn Helder at Highbury, the Dutch international winger, signed from Vitesse, played 39 League games for the Gunners, but his problems on the field were nothing compared to the problems he has since faced off of it.

Gambling addictions troubled the 40 year old, during his playing days, culminating in a suicide attempt during his time with NAC, and to this day continues to gamble heavily, appearing on TV poker competitions. Helder has never been able to shake off his habit, and appears to be in denial about his pastime saying he could quit "tomorrow" if needed.

The wingers problems have spiraled out of control in recent years, and now Helder's mental state has been called into question. September 2007 saw Glenn jailed after stalking his ex-wife, and harassing her partner, on top of this Helder was found to have illegal possession of a firearm. This year has seen Helder's story reach its lowest point, as he was admitted to the psychiatric ward of the De Waag hospital, in Haarlem. His mental problems have been identified as a "Narcissistic Personality Disorder" and he will have to convince his judge that there is no chance Helder will again, be a danger to others.
